2014 Maths GCSE papers were ‘Difficult’

Just posting some feedback from our students on how they found the foundation and higher GCSE maths paper this year. Apparently both were pretty challenging, with particular reference to a tesselation question which was the last question on one of the foundation papers. Yikes! We’ve got our fingers crossed for our students, who without exception worked really hard and deserve success. I fully expect to be posting congratulations to them on here in August. It seems a long wait though!

Only a few weeks to go to 2014 exams

Only a few weeks to go now until the 2014 summer exams. As the rustle of past papers fills the air, we are gearing up for a bumper year of results. Also congratulations go out to both Leanne and Ellie for moving up to a higher Maths group in school this term, a well deserved reward for all their hard work!

To everyone else now panicking because exams are looming – don’t worry, it’ll all come together, just keep working steadily and you’ll get there!

New Academic Year 2013 / 2014

The new academic year is in full swing now and we’re having lots of personal recommendations so I wanted to thank all the parents that are supporting us. We’re nearly at full capacity with Maths students already and Science is filling up rapidly too. If you are considering tuition, please let us know as soon as possible, especially for Maths Higher GCSE revision, because the November re-sits and mocks will be with us imminently!

After a nail biting day yesterday, we finally have the results from our students that sat the 2013 GCSEs in Maths and Sciences . Major Congratulations to Charlotte, Alex, Adam and Josh, who all punched well above their weight, achieving higher than predicted grades in Maths – WELL DONE!  Gold stars to Adam and Josh who jumped a massive and virtually impossible 2 grades each to get an A and A*.

A Special Mention from Rob goes to Charlotte for her hard work and achievement in Science

Introduction to us

Just to introduce ourselves, Rob and I have decided to combine our tutoring activities and make this website the hub. We tutor maths (mainly Leigh) and science (mainly Rob) to G.C.S.E and Biology to ‘A’ Level. I have lots of quite high level tutoring experience at the university, and also helping family and friends with theirs children’s GCSEs, whilst Rob has over 13 years of teaching experience in science.
